I wanted to give this game a chance since I’ve never played a Fire Emblem game before and I really liked Roy from Super Smash Bros. Melee. Now I see why Fire Emblem never left Japan for a long time.
First of all, this game plays nothing like Super Smash Bros. The commercial I saw on TV was highly deceptive and was not indicative at all of what the gameplay would be like. Many might say that I should have done my research on what the game was about, but that’s what the commercial was for.
Secondly, every time I had a unit die, they never came back. I don’t understand why the game designers thought this would be a good idea. I’m stuck on chapter 10 and I just have two units to kill all these people with. Did the developers even test this game? Why create a situation where it’s impossible to win? I seriously don’t know how people actually beat this game without cheating or something.
Also, where’s Roy? Wait, I actually have to purchase him in a separate DLC? Way to be greedy, Nintendo. Why not put him in the main game? Marth is in there with a mask, but you have to take away fan-favorite Roy.
Lastly, the 3D effect hurts my eyes. Every time Nintendo releases a new 3DS game, I cringe because I have to look at these 3D effects that I swear burns my retinas. I would turn it off, but then there’s no point in reviewing this game since the 3DS is all about the 3D.
